School Announcements

  • Starting February 1, 2019 through February 28, 2019, current Cupertino Union School District (CUSD) families, and families registering a new student during this window may request to attend an Attendance Area School other than their current CUSD Attendance Area School.

     Schedule an appointment with Student Assignment, 1309 S. Mary Ave., Sunnyvale, using this LINK.

    • You must bring your State Issued ID/Driver's License and your child(ren)'s PERM ID number when you come.
    • Families must live in the District at the time of registration and must maintain their primary residence within the District in order to apply during the Attendance Area School Open Enrollment Window and/or remain on the living waitlist.
    • Students must be currently enrolled or must have already been registered for the 2019-2020 School Year in order to apply during the Attendance Area School Open Enrollment Window and/or remain on the living waitlist.
    • The Attendance Area School Open Enrollment Lottery will take place in late March. More information will be available at the end of March 2019. Please visit the web page for an updates.
    • The Attendance Area School Open Enrollment will not be on first come-first served basis; it will be a random unbiased lottery.
    • Parents will not be given the opportunity to rank the order of choice if parents request more than one school.
    • All Student PERM ID numbers will be placed in one lottery. After the lottery is complete, the lottery numbers will be sorted by grade and school.

Safe Routes to School

  • Safe Routes to School is an international movement to make it safe, convenient and fun for children and families to choose healthier, active, and sustainable school commutes. The goal of Safe Routes to School is to get more children bicycling and walking to schools every day. This improves community and personal health, benefits the environment, increases safety, and decreases traffic congestion around schools. The Cupertino Union School District continues to build partnerships with the cities where our students live (Cupertino, Los Altos, Santa Clara, San Jose, Saratoga, and Sunnyvale) so that we can all make sure our students are traveling to and from school in the healthiest way possible.
