Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Alexandra Lipka and I am very excited to be teaching second grade at Faria A+ Elementary School. When I was a child, my dream was to become a teacher. However, I explored other options before finally reaching my life-long goal. Although, I always knew I would end up working with children. During high school, I worked at multiple afterschool programs and summer camps. Once I graduated from Los Gatos High School, I attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where I received my BA degree, Summa Cum Laude, in Intensive Psychology. Before making a career choice, I decided to travel abroad and volunteer to work in mental health hospitals and teach English to children in Sri Lanka. This trip opened my eyes to my true passion for working with and teaching children. The minute I got home I applied for the Masters in Education and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential program at UCSC and from then on began my journey to my teaching career. I am proud to say that in 2017 I graduated with both, and now am blessed to have my dream job here at Faria. I am truly honored to spend many years here teaching and molding our future. I can honestly say that I have found my passion in life and I would not want to be anywhere else. Thank you for welcoming me and I look forward to meeting you all!
