Change of Address

    Any change in residence must be reported to the Student Assignment Office located at 1309 S. Mary Avenue Suite #150, Sunnyvale, CA 94087 within ten (10) working days. Student Assignment Office hours for Change of Address are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    Moving Within the District

    Grades Kindergarten - grade 4 and grade 6 - grade 7
    Students currently attending a District school in grades Kindergarten through 4 and grades 6 and 7 who have a change of residence out of the school attendance area, but within the District, must provide current proof of residence and complete a Request For Transfer form available at the Student Assignment Office. These transfers will be considered on an individual basis at the time of the request.  

    Note: Transfer requests will not be granted if neighborhood students are being enrolled to an overflow school.

    Grade 5 and grade 8
    Students currently attending a District school in grades 5 and 8 who move out of the school attendance area, but reside within the District, will be allowed to complete the school year pending space availability. The parent will need to provide current proof of residence and completes a Request For Transfer form available at the Student Assignment Office.

    Note: Transfer requests will not be granted if neighborhood students are being enrolled to an overflow school.

    Moving Out of the District 

    Grades Kindergarten - grade 4 and grade 6 - grade 7
    Students currently attending a District school in grades Kindergarten through 4 and grades 6 and 7 who move out of the District will be processed using the following guidelines:

    • To allow the student to complete a school year when his/her parents/guardian have moved out of the district on or after March 1 of the current school year if all of the following conditions are met:
      1. Adequate space is available at the current school 
      2. The parent completes a Request For Transfer form, available at the Student Assignment Office, requesting the child continue at the current school 
      3. The parent applies and receives an approved interdistrict transfer from their district of residence 
      4. The student adheres to the provisions of the transfer

    Note: Transfer requests will not be granted if there is a waitlist of In-District students. Transfers will be considered on an individual basis at the time of the request.

    Grade 5 and grade 8
    Students currently attending a District school in grades 5 and 8 who move out of the District will be allowed to complete the school year if all of the following conditions are met:

    1. Adequate space is available at the current school 
    2. The parent completes a Request For Transfer form, available at the Student Assignment Office, requesting the child continue at the current school 
    3. The parent applies and receives an approved interdistrict transfer from their district of residence 
    4. The student adheres to the provisions of the transfer
