MOT Departments Information

  • Fleet provides vehicle maintenance and repairs for the District’s school buses, service vehicles, and mechanized equipment. The department offers comprehensive daily vehicle maintenance support, scheduled preventive maintenance, and major overhaul projects.  Every year the department ensures the District’s buses and service vehicles meet federal, state, and local requirements for safety and smog certifications.

    Grounds is responsible for maintaining the District’s grounds, playing fields, and planting areas. The department provides watering, fertilizing, lawn care, pruning, general cleanup, large tree work, landscaping, pest management, and irrigation repair. 

    Maintenance provides maintenance, repair, and utility services for the District’s facilities. Its staff encompass electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, locksmith, glazing, sheet metal, HVAC, and masonry trades. The department offers comprehensive daily maintenance support, scheduled preventive maintenance, and major maintenance projects. It also handles Facility Use Permits

    Operations is responsible for both custodial work and security at school sites, the Administrative Office, and Operations Center. Custodians provide comprehensive daily cleaning, scheduled deep cleaning, and major custodial projects. Security staff patrols and monitors District property in the evening, performing door and window lock checks and reporting any incidents observed or encountered.

    Property manages lease agreements and leased properties including day care sites, leases modular classrooms, collects developer impact fees, monitors new construction within the District’s boundaries, oversees playground equipment installations, manages hazardous materials, and maintains a library of architectural plans.

    Transportation provides daily transportation for special education and ELD students, field trips, and limited fee-based bus service within the District.
