Supporting Students Who May Be Feeling Anxious or Worried
Situations like this one can also produce heightened feelings of worry and anxiety, in both our students and ourselves. These feelings are natural and expected when we encounter situations that feel unfamiliar, uncertain, and outside of our direct control. Our students will be looking to safe and trusted adults in their lives for reassurance, comfort, and strategies to help them manage those big feelings. Here, please find several resources that you may find helpful in thinking about how you want to approach these conversations with your children. We have included resources that specifically address tips for talking about the coronavirus in age-appropriate ways, as well as resources with broader techniques to help children manage moments when they feel anxious or worried.
