Safe Routes To School (SR2S)

Cupertino Union School District is dedicated to supporting healthy habits, reducing neighborhood traffic, and creating safer travel conditions around our campuses. Through active transportation initiatives, CUSD encourages students and families to walk, bike, and roll to school safely. By collaborating with local traffic safety officials and city partners, our communities work to enhance pedestrian infrastructure—such as widening sidewalks and improving crosswalk signals—to make school zones safer for everyone.

Choosing active transportation helps students build regular physical activity into their daily routines, helping them arrive at school energized and focused for the day. Our District initiatives focus on:

• Educating students on essential road and pedestrian safety.

• Organizing seasonal community events like Walk and Roll to School days.

• Partnering with local City partners to improve street safety near school sites.

Suggested Routes to School Maps 

Walking maps are available for select schools within the District. Families are encouraged to review their school's map, when available, to help plan the safest route to and from campus.
