Superintendent Stacy Yao
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year and what looks to be an exciting as well as challenging year ahead!
It is going to be an incredible year of learning and growing. While I know this has been a very difficult time for families and many of you are still worried and anxious about schools reopening, I want you to know that we are following every health and safety precaution set out for us by the CDPH and have prepared our schools to provide a safe and healthy environment for students to return for in-person learning.
I am incredibly proud of the work and partnership that our staff and parents have in place that has propelled our exceptional students through unknown times. Students will always remain our top priority. The District is committed to making decisions that take into consideration students’ academic needs and best interests. Our work will continue to operationalize the Strategic Plan supporting students and align with our Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAP) and School Plans for Student Achievement (SPSAs). We will strengthen our internal and external communication and continue to expand opportunities for parent and community involvement at both the District and site levels.
Working together, we can open doors for every student to explore, learn and create while providing a diverse and inclusive learning experience that builds their success now and for the future years. I look forward, and am honored, to have the opportunity to lead CUSD into “better” than it has ever been!
On behalf of our staff, we look forward to a successful and rewarding school year!
