Degrees and Certifications:
I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. My concentration was in marketing and I enjoyed applying my skills in retail management and banking. In 1992, I decided to leave the work place and stay home with my children. In 2001, I began substitute teaching at Portal. Three years later I joined the Portal staff while earning my credential from San Jose State University. I have been teaching at Portal ever since. Most of my experience is in the Macaroni Village, but I did spend two fun filled years in K/1.
My husband, Andy and I have been married for 30 years. He is a native of California and actually grew up right here in Cupertino. He attended the original Portal elementary school from 1969-1975. He then went on to Collins Jr. High and graduated from Cupertino High School in 1982. Andy and I married shortly after we graduated from college and have settled just a block from where he grew up. We love being a part of the Cupertino community.
We have two children, Olivia (26) and Evan (23). They are proud graduates of Portal Elementary School and Cupertino High School. My family loves sports. We like to play, compete, and cheer on our favorite teams. I am from San Diego, but when it comes to baseball, my heart belongs to the Giants. Football is another matter. I am a Chargers fan all the way. GO BOLTS!
