Rita Kim Wubker-Cole
I was born and raised in the the bay area. For most of my life I've lived in South Bay Area, mainly San Jose. I love this area so much because it has so much to offer. I also love the the cultural mix here. One of the reasons why I love it is because of my family background. My mother is from Vietnam and is a mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, and French. My father is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is a mix of German, American Indian, Dutch, and Irish. I am the first generation from my mother's side born in America. I loved to sing and dance as a child and preformed in many shows throughout high school and some college. My passion has always been working with children. I attended San Jose State University for my undergrad studies. My degree is in Child and Adolescent Development with minors in Deaf Education and Mathematics. I then went on to graduated school and received a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at Santa Clara University. I spent a year and a half subbing K-12th grade classes in the Gilroy Unified District and Campbell Union School District before I found my home here in the Cupertino Union School District (CUSD). During my time at Nimitz I have furthered my studies in many areas, specifically, mathematics and technology. I have taken many professional development courses to stay current including taking part in the Silicon Valley Math Institute (SVMI), graduating from the MERIT Program, and becoming a Nationally Certified Leading Edge Digital Educator. I have been a teacher at Nimitz Elementary School since 2006 and I love it! I have taught various grades combinations at this school, but the majority of the time I have taught 3rd grade. Also back when we had an ELD center here, I taught English Learners in 3rd grade for 8 years. The students are wonderful and this school is amazing. I am so proud to be apart of the team here.
