Degrees and Certifications:
I was born and grew up in Taiwan. Then I came to the US to earn my BA degree in Business and a minor in Liberal Studies. I returned to Taiwan and started teaching in middle school and realized that I found a passion in teaching, Bilingualism has always been a keen interest for me, so I was able to come back to California and get a Cleared California Teaching Credentials both in CLAD and BCLAD.
My family and I relocated from Southern California to the Bay Area, where it is rich in cultural diversity. While living in the Bay Area, not only is my son able to be Chinese bilingual and bi-literate, but I have had an opportunity to teach Chinese. I started teaching in CLIP fifth grade Chinese for two years, but teaching third grade is my favorite. It is so rewarding to witness 3rd graders grow noticeably independent in just a matter of a year. The best attribute of the 3rd graders is that they are still at the age in which they still like to please teachers!
In my spare time, my family and I love to take advantage of the natural beauty that the bay area offers by hiking, biking or running.
