Miss Tarr

Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Tarr

To begin, my full name is Melissa Nicole Tarr. I am a Bay Area native. I was born and raised in Fremont and moved to San Jose when pursuing a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University.  I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, with a focus in preparation for teaching. SJSU is also the institution where I earned my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.

I have taught within the Cupertino Union School district for 5 years, this being my 6th year. Previously I taught K/1 for 4 years in a multiage classroom at Murdock-Portal Elementary; one of CUSD's alternative public school programs. This will be my second  year teaching at Sedgwick.

In my free time, I enjoy playing softball, exercising, dancing, and spending time with my friends,  family, and my puppy Cooper. My favorite color is coral (an orange and pinkish color). My favorite animal is an elephant, known for being an extremely large, but gentle creature. Very much like myself! ;) I look forward to the year ahead and being the facilitator to the exploration and discoveries your child will experience in room 14 this school year.
