Degrees and Certifications:

Audrey Shih

Hello! My name is Audrey Shih and I am so honored and happy to be teaching 1st Grade at West Valley. I did my student teaching in a K/1 Montessori classroom and later guest taught in a 1st Grade classroom. 1st Grade is such an exciting year for students, parents and teachers alike. And it’s an absolute joy of mine to watch students begin a life-long journey of reading and writing. As someone who grew up and spent my formative years in Cupertino, the city holds a special place in my heart. The community is embedded into the fabric of my being and has heavily influenced my relationship with the world of education. It was here where many of the teachers I personally had inspired me to pursue teaching as my passion and career. And it is this undeniable connection I have with this community that has kept me coming back, year after year. I graduated and received my teaching credential and master’s degree from the UC Davis School of Education program. However, amongst all my credentials and titles, the following are the most important ones I currently hold: Daughter, Sister, Silly Dancer, Hat and Glasses Collector and, of course, Dreamer. In my spare time, you’ll find me plucking away at my ukulele, deeply engrossed in a book, and/or spending some quality time with loved ones at the park. Words cannot express how excited I am for the school year to begin. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know each and every one of you!
