Degrees and Certifications:
I grew up in Northern Kentucky and majored in Anthropology at Western Kentucky University, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree. I then attended Connecticut State University where I earned my elementary education teaching certificate. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember! I student taught third grade in Meriden, Connecticut. I moved to Cupertino, California and was thrilled to get my first teaching job in 1997 at Lincoln Elementary. I taught fourth grade for three years and then took maternity leave for the birth of my first son. I was fortunate to stay home with my three children for several years but I was always involved in education during their childhood. I loved volunteering in their classrooms and eventually began substitute teaching again in 2010. In the spring of 2013 I held a long term substitute position in fifth grade at Lincoln. In the summer of 2013 I was rehired to teach fifth grade full time at Lincoln for the 2013-2014 school year. I was thrilled to be a part of the fifth grade team here at Lincoln and enjoy the curriculum for fifth grade. I am honored to have the opportunity to teach your child and eager to create a supportive learning environment for all my students. My teaching philosophy is that learning should be student centered, activities should be engaging and creative, allowing students to reach their full potential in order to instill a lifelong love of learning.
