About the Teacher:

Hello students and parents! Welcome to my teacher website, I hope you find your Google Classroom and external links informative and utilize these tools to be successful throughout the school year. I was born in San Jose and I'm a product of the Moreland and Campbell Union High School District. I'm a graduate of San Jose State University with a BA degree in History with a minor in Speech Communication, as well I have completed my Teaching Credential and
Masters degree in Education at National University. I've taught in the Cupertino School District at both the elementary and middle school grade levels. I currently coach both boys and girls basketball, the Lawson Cross Country, and the Golf team here at Lawson. In addition, I have also coached Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball at Prospect and Fremont High Schools. I enjoy being active and participating in activities such as snowboarding, golf, wakeboarding, running, playing basketball, and living a healthy lifestyle. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my wife Danae, daughter Ava, son Jaxon, and dog Pismo.

Class Mission:

The mission of the class will be teach health benefits of physical activity to my students in a format that provides a safe, comfortable environment that is conducive to learning. I want to develop self-awareness, and have my students grow academically, physically, and socially. I want my passion for physical fitness and living a healthy lifestyle to transcend into the students' lives beyond the classroom. Additionally I aspire to immerse my students in a differentiated set of physical activities while celebrating our diversity and unique talents and connecting learning with the State Content Standards and Common Core standards. I want my students to view each other as respected individuals and as valued members of teams. I want my classes to have fun while experiencing the positive effects of activity, and I want them to understand the important role physical fitness plays in a well rounded education, and a happy body and mind. Your child will have a great experience learning, collaborating with classmates and engaging in activities that will enhance their skills, improve their physical and mental fitness and positively build their overall character. Ultimately, my goal is by the end of the year my students will reach and surpass Physical Fitness state standards, common core standards, as well as have the tools to live a healthy lifestyle.
