Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Sharleen Young
I am thrilled to be an educator at Eisenhower. My home away from home. Born and raised in the Bay Area, I understand through experience the pressure of growing up in an ever changing society that holds such high expectations of our children in order to succeed in life. I graduated from UC San Diego with a Human Development degree hoping to be able to work with children in some shape or form. I started my first career in the supplemental education field. For the next 10 years, I worked as a Director running multiple educational centers for kids K-12. I spent my days helping students ranging from those needing remedial attention to students who excelled and needed that extra challenge in a variety of subjects. I worked with over 350 students and absolutely loved watching each one grow throughout the year. In 2007, my personal and professional life took a bit of a turn. I married the man of my dreams (Colin), but also due to his career moved to the coldest state in the country, Minnesota. During the next 5 years, I experienced corporate America by working for Target as a Corporate Recruiter. During this time, Apple Inc. found my husband and brought us back home to Ca where we now settled in Saratoga with our two beautiful children, Madison and Dylan. As a mother and an educator at heart, I knew my true passion was and will be working with children. While I enjoyed the fast paced environment of corporate America, I knew what I had to do, return to school. I obtained my Multiple Subject Credential from San Jose State. The team of educators at Eisenhower share my same passion for children, focus on professional development and strive to instill a love for learning in each one of our students. I am overjoyed to be a part of this team!
