• On November 6, 2018, a vacancy was created on the Board of Education of the Cupertino Union School District, when Trustee Liang Chao filed her resignation with the Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools. Trustee Chao’s dedication and service to public schools has been exemplary, and her presence on the Board will be truly missed.  

    The Trustee vacancy will be filled by Board appointment.  The Board will be accepting online applications beginning December 17, 2018, at 5:00 pm, through 5:00 pm January 14, 2019.  To be considered as a candidate, the application must be received no later than 5:00 pm on January 14, 2019.  Any application received after 5:00 pm on January 14, 2019, will not be accepted.  Please click here to complete the application.

    On January 15, 2019, an appointed subcommittee of the Board of Education will screen candidate applications and select finalists to be considered for the vacant position.  Thereafter, on January 24, 2019, a Special Board meeting will be convened at the District Office to present and review the selected finalists. Candidates should make themselves available for this meeting.  The Board’s appointment of the candidate to fill this position will take place at the January 31, 2019 Board meeting after discussion of candidates.
