Science

Cupertino Union School District works to develop in our young scientists an in-depth understanding of science content while also developing essential skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking,  inquiry, problem solving, and flexibility. These skills and understandings are nurtured by every child's innate curiosity and wonder about phenomena in the natural world. Ultimately, our goal is to inspire future generations of scientifically literate students, which will serve them throughout their educational career and beyond.

Science instruction in Cupertino Union School District is guided by the Next Generation Science Standards. This includes Performance Expectations for every grade level that are reached through three dimensions of inquiry-based science instruction and learning processes which include: Disciplinary Core Ideas, Cross Cutting Concepts and Science & Engineering Practices
