NEW! School Tours and Information Sessions for Registration 2022-23 School Year
Christa McAuliffe K-8 School is one of the Alternative Schools options within the Cupertino Union School District. Each alternative school operates under a unique philosophy. McAuliffe is a progressive, parent participation school.
In order to make sure parents have a clear understanding of the scope of our program for students and family members, mandatory Information Sessions and School Tours must be attended in order to qualify for the Open Enrollment Lottery. The annual lottery determines placement in alternative schools.
Parent attendance at School Tours and Information Sessions are two separate required events parents must plan for and sign-up to attend. If our records indicate you did not attend both sessions, your family is ineligible for the lottery.
Each CUSD student has a student ID number. This student ID number is provided at the time of registration. It is very important that you provide this number to the McAuliffe School Attendance Secretary to complete your family's registration.
Student ID numbers must be on file with the school attendance secretary before the beginning of Priority Open Enrollment. Failure to do so will make your family ineligible for the lottery.
Easy times for you to provide student ID numbers are during the Information Sessions or School Tours.
As you plan your exploration of our program, make sure you have reviewed the links below about the district's registration and enrollment process. Please make sure your child is registered with the district and your neighborhood attendance area school.

Register now! School Tour Dates for 2022-23 school year
During the pandemic, we are hosting webinar-tours. The dates below are links for you to use to register in advance for a webinar-tour. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
When you join the webinar the day of your tour, it is very important that you complete the 'Check-In to the Tour' link that is made available to you. This Check-In is our attendance record for the tour and one of the district requirements for eligibility in the open enrollment lottery.
We look forward to meeting you at one of our webinar-tours!
Information Session Dates for 2022-23 school year coming soon!
Attending an Information Session is a second requirement to satisfy district eligibility requirements to enter the open enrollment lottery.
We will soon be posting Information Session dates and times.
Information sessions will include observations and wisdom from current teachers about student success and classroom practices.
For additional information about our program, please visit our Christa McAuliffe Parent-Faculty Group's website.
Note: Tour and Information Session attendance records are maintained for two years. If two years have passed and then you decide to participate in Open Enrollment, you would have to re-attend a School Tour and Information Session to be eligible.
