- Cupertino Union School District
- Novel Coronavirus Updates
March 25, 2020
Dear CUSD community,
We are writing to let you know that Santa Clara County, in partnership with five other Bay Area counties, has decided that school closures be extended through Friday, May 1, 2020. In accordance with that decision, all schools in the Cupertino Union School District will remain closed through May 1. Teachers will continue with remote instruction throughout school closures.
Spring Break will continue as previously scheduled during the week of April 12, 2020.
*Murdock-Portal's Spring break will remain the same (the weeks of April 5 and April 12, 2020).
The shelter at home order and all other Public Health, county and state guidance remain in place. Schools will continue to provide essential services, including food service to students.
We know that the school closures and shelter at home order will continue to create challenges for our students, families, and staff. Despite these challenges, our dedicated staff continues to work diligently to provide a positive and supportive educational experience for all students.
Please continue to check our School Closure Resources webpage <https://www.cusdk8.org/Page/8768> for the latest updates from CUSD.
With the extension of school closures, we wanted to remind the community that school campuses are closed to the public. In collaboration with city agencies, we are requesting that community members do not come onto school campuses, which includes play structures, blacktop spaces, and fields.
Please do not allow your children and teens to be on school campuses. Our custodians have been working very hard to keep our schools sanitized and safe, and with schools closed, there is no reason for anyone to be on campus right now.
As we face these obstacles together, we thank you for your support and continued partnership.
