8th Grade Promotion

The class of 2019 will be the first class celebrating their promotion at the Flint Center which is located on the De Anza campus. To help families prepare for this event, we have identified vital information; additional information and reminders will be sent out closer to the event.

Tickets

  • There will be a limited number of attendees for the event, capacity at the Flint Center is just over 2,500. Each family will have approximately 5 seats available for family/guest to attend the ceremony (more information will be sent closer to the event)

Photography

  • Professional photography will be taken when the student is handed the certificate along with a portrait after receiving the certificate. These pictures will be available for purchase, and an email will be sent directly to you with details.

  • Please do not block the aisle or set up tripods with cameras during the event.

  • The De Anza Community College campus offers a variety of backgrounds for photo opportunities after the ceremony. Please be aware that classes will be in session. Be respectful to the students who are attending school. 

Parking

  • CUSD is pleased to share that the Chancellor of the Community College has offered free parking in the garage near the Flint Center.  The District is thankful to the college and appreciates the support. Please follow all college parking rules and practices.

  • Balloons, posters, and noisemakers are not permitted in the auditorium.

Attendance

8th-grade students will receive instructions regarding school attendance on 6/6 and 6/7 from their Middle Schools. Absences for siblings who attend CUSD schools and would like to attend the Promotion Ceremony will be excused. Please contact the respective school offices to inform them of the absence for siblings that will attend the promotion ceremony.
